Manic Monday
Actually, I don't think Manic Monday does justice to what I went through today.
Back from training on Saturday, I was told to attend 2 seminars today at the Old Airport- 9am and 2pm. The morning session ended just before 11, which meant that I had to rush back to the office to do some work. Lunch at 12 and received a text message from my line manager to attend a briefing in Jerudong at 5.15pm. I also happen to have a meeting at 4.30pm. Briefing was cancelled but meeting was not. After the afternoon seminar, rushed back to the office at 3.30pm before attending the meeting in Kiulap.
If you didn't understand that- don't try to. On the drive back home this afternoon, I was actually thinking how I managed to get through the day without freaking out.
To top it off, my massage for tonight has been postponed to tomorrow evening.
Anyways, I'm actually proud of myself today. I have managed to do 2 things today.
1. I finally know how to tune to other stations on my car radio, besides those that has been set by the car salesman (and my husband!). Yes, previously I had to press the arrows quickly to make sure I got the right station but I always failed. Say I wanted 87.7 for my ipod but I always missed it- either 87.5 or 87.9. So that's what the right knob is used for.
2. I finally know how to link my dailies from my webpage! Will update with more of my dailies soon.
So, how was your Monday?
Pen Stains
First, I apologise for the lack of updates. I've been on training for the past week and will only be back at the office on Saturday. Next week will be a short week as Friday will be the banks' half yearly and I will start my mandatory leave on Saturday. Apart from that, I have volunteered for the Tri-X Challenge, which began last Sunday with registration and will continue for the next 3 Sundays. So, for those participating- Good Luck and See you on Sunday
And that is what I have been up to.
Now, on a more serious note- My Sudoku Addiction is out of control. Images of empty boxes and drawing imaginary perpendicular lines across the boxes to solve imaginary Sudoku puzzles is enough to think I might just need help. I bought the second volume of Pete Sinden's Ultimate Book of Sudoku last weekend as I have finished the first volume. I am now in the middle of completing Puzzle 129.
Its not only that, today I have noticed that there's a pen stain on my steering wheel and I couldn't get rid of it earlier. How did I get it there? Let's just say I'm in impatient person and I hate wasting time, hence, I try to complete puzzles when I'm stuck in traffic. Told you I need help.
Few weeks ago, I bought a purple thai silk cushion for my couch, which I have stained in with my Sudoku Pen (Yes, the pen has been officially called the Sudoku Pen along with my Sudoku Pencil and Sudoku Eraser for the difficult puzzles). Bed sheets, duvet covers and pillow covers were also the innoncent victims of my Sudoku Addiction. To my embarassment, I once had a pen stain across my cheek whilst completing the puzzles lying down, let alone, my hands & lower arms.
So yes, besides work, training and extra projects- I have been busy with Sudoku. My husband has yet to threaten me by taking it away, thus, I will enjoy it for now unless someone has a better idea.
Toilet Paper Habit
What brings about this post, you ask?
Yesterday, I was in the ladies with a colleague, fighting over the only stall with toilet paper. Seeing that she's pregnant, I took the roll out and tore a loooong piece (or whatever the correct term is!) and just squashed it in my palm. She, on the other hand, folded it neatly before tearing it. She noticed I was giving her the look and she said, 'I have to fold it otherwise it wouldn't feel nice'. I burst out laughing and went on to do my business.
It, however, got me thinking. I know someone who would only tear like 4 squares/ pieces to use everytime she goes to the toilet. I also know someone who would wet it before using it.
I also then noticed that I like to fix my toilet rolls in a way that the loose end hangs over the roll and not under it. I would even sometimes find myself fixing it in public toilets or in the office.
I also tend to buy toilet rolls with printed images on them- little blue dolphins in Brunei and little purple flowers or was it butterfly when I was back in Brisbane. If they don't have any of those in stock, I would buy embossed white toilet rolls.
And oh, I remember a friend mentioning that girls use more toilet paper than boys do. Anyone care to vet that? I know that the Red Man has to re-stock the toilet rolls at the office come lunch time. Then again, there are so many female staff in my office plus some irresponsible colleagues tend to steal them and put them in their drawers because they forgot to bring their own tissue.
So, what is your toilet paper habit?
When is Father’s Day?
Initially I thought it was today but a friend corrected me and said it's actually next Sunday. So yeah, I thought- next Sunday it is.
Today, I was sitting in front of the TV doing my Sudoku when this Malaysian TV host started jumping around her set saying 'Selamat Hari Bapa'. I was like 'Eh? Antamnya saja diurang ani. Its next Sunday lah.' Then in the afternoon as I passed Bodyshop at The Mall, they had some sort of Father's Day Colouring Contest. So tell me wise people, was I right initially or is my friend right? Is Father's Day next week or was it today?
Speaking of The Mall, I was totally uncool as my heels got stuck between the tiles THREE times. I will never learn my lesson but then again, why don't they place the tiles closely together? Do they have to have those little spaces in between them? Seriously, our heels will be ruined! Chunky heels? You have got to be kidding me.
I’ve been busy.
…catching up on Grey's Anatomy plus I have started watching Korean dramas. As James have said, 'Happiness also comes in DVD boxsets'. At the moment I have chosen not to start watching any series as the husband just came back. So I'm planning to spend some time with him.
Our texts this afternoon whilst he was still at work.
Me: You want to watch a movie tonight?
Him: Movie apa?
Me: I don't know. Do you want to go or not? Unless of course, you want to catch England's game.
(at this point I already knew he was reluctant to go as he would usually reply with 'manasaja' )
Him: Yeah. The game is at 9pm.
Me: Iatah.. I know.. Inda payahlah…
(It was supposed to be a menyamal text)
Him: :p
I suppose it didn't really matter I nyamal-ed. Psft. It is football afterall. Thank God it is only once every 4 years. And ooh, maybe I should then start watching series again.
Oh yeah. He refused to buy for me the Sudoku handheld electronic game because, 'karang makin you addicted'.
Its Monday Again!
…which meant that I've started work again today after a very long weekend.
I'm in no mood to blog. Typed then deleted, typed again but deleted again.
I'm reliving my single life with tv, tv and more tv with Sudoku in between, while he is still away.
Sleeping alone…
It feels very weird but I did manage to get some sleep at the end, although it wasn't a good one as I kept waking up.
He left for Korea last night and won't be back till mid next week. Not fun, I tell you. This is the first time we're apart since we got married and knowing me, there were some crying sessions. In the end, we avoided each other's eyes yesterday and good byes were pretty quick.
Hence, my leave has been cut short and I'm starting work on Monday3. If it was a not-so-foreign country, I would've joined but the Koreans hardly speak English and neither of us have been there.
I'm going to the salon today to get my hair and eyebrows done. I already had my nails done yesterday. Tomorrow i've booked myself a pampering session at the spa followed by a night in with my friends at home.
Also, I've promised my brother I'd take him to the movies, so that will probably be on Sunday.
Suddenly, my leave feels so short and I know I already have heaps of work waiting for me on Monday.
