Aidiladha
The husband pulled the drapes before he went off to the mosque this morning. Menyaya. When he heard me grunt (not pretty, I tell you!) he said, ‘mau me tutup balik?’. Sarcastic kah nda, I don’t know. Hehe. But I told him its fine and just pulled up the duvet. Early morninggggggg after a late, late night. Somehow, it has now become a routine for us to have coffee on saturday night. If everyone’s busy, it would be just the both of us. Nevertheless, it was always fun, fun, fun.
I don’t really have much to say. The purpose of this is to just wish everyone…
Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha
Much Love, F & H
Resolution No. 2
..to talk less or at least think before i speak…
last night my ‘Randy Jackson’ cousin said that if I was to be celebrity, I would be Oprah.
Why you ask? Because he said I talk too much!
Atau kali ia ucap aku lampuhhh…
/edit sat morning
my brother said my legs were swollen and I didn’t realise it. i said they weren’t, i’m just fat and have big legs. although they were itchy. now, my whole body macam swollen (you won’t be able to tell much. pasal lamak jua, pasal bangkak jua) and itchyyyy! and i just figured out what causes it- allergic reaction to udang galah! i only had 3!!!!!
oh. i was just watching CNN about this photo-journalist from Palestine called Mohammad, who’s covering the Haj pilgrim this year. he was taking a shot of these 2 girls in telekung and a guy with big smiless. at first i thought one of them look familiar.. macam suhaila… skali when he asked ‘where are you from?’, all of them went..’Bruneiiiiiiii’. hehehehe.
What are you doing for New Year’s?
or Aidiladha?
It’s funny how everyone tends to relate the impending long weekend as a New Year’s weekend but they hardly mention about Aidiladha. Heh. A colleague of mine sedakah-ed some kerupuk this afternoon and said, ’sempena tahun baru’. I thought it would be more appropriate to say ’sempena hari raya haji’ but hey what do i know? Hehe.
I have a few family commitments on Aidiladha itself- tahlil/ breakfast in Bunut followed by tahlil/ lunch in Jerudong and then tahlil/ mandi berlawat/ hi-tea in Jerudong again. I suppose, if it wasn’t for these events I would treat the long weekend as New Year’s long weekend just like most people I know. Hehe.
So yes, I’ve made plans for New Year’s Day and it involves a lot of sun, if it doesn’t rain that is. It will technically be just me & the husband. The non-technical side? Not saying. Hehe. A friend has also invited us for a BBQ party in the evening but it says ‘Single’s Only Party’. Babe, does that mean the husband & I are no longer invited? Hehe. Or does your invitation entail F & H plus 2 single friends of opposite sex? What if we bring 2 single MALE friends? Hehe. More boys, the merrier! LOL. I say I’ll take Mr. Bean and emmm…. the husband’s friend! Haha.
Last year I spent the new year berpacar and being sent to bed early. The year before… I think I spent it watching a movie at the ex-boyfriend’s (now husband. haha.) place… And the year before that.. I spent it at Empire- there were too many people, I sat on someone’s drinks and I was wearing a white tunic top.. Psft. Mau kan minum sampai mabuk tapi nyusahkan orang!
Speaking of New Year’s my first among my many resolutions is- TRY TO LOSE WEIGHT.
We’ll see how THAT goes. Haha. After all, New Year’s resolutions aren’t meant to be followed through. Hahahaha.
Brunei Blogs
I was telling my cousin that there are sooo many Bruneian Bloggers now! I remember when I was back in Brisbane, there were only a handful and even googling for ‘Brunei blogs’ resulted in very, very few sites. Now, you don’t even have to google for them, I find myself reading at least 2-3 new blogs each week, of which, quite a bit are worth going back.
There have also been an influx of photo-blogs and i am enjoying them immensely. Although I am still below par, okay fine, hopeless, at taking photos, I have learned how to appreciate good photos and surprisingly, my comments are usually agreed by the husband! Hehe. I am getting better at this, I tell you! Oh, it is so shiuk to see so many wedding photographers with their on websites too! While the typical penyebok Bruneian in me likes to see siapa yang kawin, siapa yang balum (esp. since takut tersalah tamukan orang yang sudah kawin sama my girlfriends! Hehe!), the photographer’s wife (eseh!) in me just wants to compare their work and perhaps recommend to my family & friends nanti. Hehe.
AnakBrunei, if you’re reading this, I can tell you, your photos have greatly improved and getting better & better each day since the first time I saw your photos! Banar! I mentioned it to the husband and he agreed. Hehe. You have an eye for great shots!
I have also recently came across Memoirs of a Poklen and Old Man’s Blog, while the former writes sarcastically but with humour, the latter talks about local current issues in a less serious way plus issues that relates today’s Bruneian’s life to the dot. Suffice to say, I am now a regular to both blogs. Plus. The fact that they both are of different age groups, it gives a variety to my daily reads. Hehe.
With blogs, many are trying to stay anonymous but Brunei being a very small country (sometimes too small!), people can easily guess the blogger’s real identity but of course, pretend not to.
You would see someone across the road and say, ‘hey, he’s back from so & so….’. Not because you know the person or you heard it from a friend of a friend, etc. that he went on a holiday but because you read it on his blog! You would meet a friend and she would update you on the goings of her life but you already know all that because you’ve been reading her blog! Your friends or family are having a conversation about someone and suddenly you go, ‘eh.. awuuu… anaknya skarang ani sekolah di…. boyfriendnya …….’. Haha. You didn’t know this because you’re friends with this person but because you once came across her blog with a picture of her kissing her boyfriend!
On the other hand, there are some intelligent blogs (as I call it!) that actively discuss current issues. I enjoy reading some of them but I thought to myself that I would probably could never write like that all the time. As my conversation with few local bloggers, ‘it’s already tiring bein gintelligent at work, blogs are for us to make mistakes and be less intelligent’. Hehe. Don’t get me wrong. Intelligent bloggers, I ENJOY your writings- banar! As I mentioned before, I like variety in the blogs I read. Hehe.
I am nowhere near being an intelligent blogger. Barangkali, this is as intelligent as I get. Haha. I don’t even go back to check for spelling or grammar errors. As Ghasidah said ‘Seybokkku’. I started blogging as a way for me to update my friends across the world on what I was up to and somehow, I just couldn’t stop. I’ve tried so many times but I kept on coming back. Hehe. Since I’m addicted, maybe as I get older, I will blog intelligentl. Or maybe not. Haha.
Speaking of blogs an photo-blogs, guess who we saw (again!) today at a cousin’s wedding.

It’s David and his sidekick! I think we saw Mizi too. I told you, semua sudah sekarang ani berwebsites. Hehe.
We laughed when we first saw each other there. Lagi jumpa. Hehe. Oh, by the way David, the husband & I want to arrange something with you. Will email the soonest.
Now, that’s long post. Actually, the draft has been sitting in my draft box for awhile now. Since I caught the two photographers on picture, might as well use it. Hehe.
Enjoy the long weekend, all!
Be The First To Shop The Semi-Annual Sale
…was the subject of the email from victoriassecret.com and like a little kid, who just discovered keys to mummy’s locked candy cabinet, I rushed to open their website.
Enough to say, the things I’ve been eyeing on are ALL ON SALE. ALMOST 50%!
*sobs*
Plus, I have just found a little website that sells a collection of uber-cute stuff. They even have a whole lot of usable things going at 60%!! I am soooo tempted!
The husband said ‘murah kah tu ertinya?’ when I told him of the drop in prices for VS and said ‘murah kan tu when include shipping?’ when I told him of the cute things.
Luckily (depends how you see it though! Haha!), the husband tried to knock some senses in me. Kalau inda… Hehe…
I think I might be busy tomorrow and maybe Sunday…
…so wishing you Merry Christmas!!
(if you celebrate Christmas that is!)
From F & H
Hehe.
It’s funny how my shortest post gets the most comments and views per day! My hits shot up yesterday too! Hehe. Either people kept on coming back to read replies or they just really want to read my blog *prasan kajap*.
Pictures from Yas & Adnan’s (not Adenan, sorry Yas. Sukati ku menukar nama laki mu. Eseh. Berlaki ia
Hehe.)Wedding are up at David’s website. You know what his website is right? Otherwise, just look for David Cheok on my links. Hehe. Spot me if you can! Hehe. David is such a big hit and has become a household name, I remember him saying, ‘…and this shot will be on davidcheok.com’ or something along those line.
David, I still get goosebumps when I look at my wedding pictures! I can never thank you enough! Hehe. Yes, we still haven’t done our pre-wedding. Lol. And it’s a year into our marriage this weekend. Hehe.
Short post. I have to hit the showers in a bit. Plus, long posts always inda kana layan. Hehe.
Sunday Wedding
Attended Yas & Adenan’s wedding today. It rained heavily last night and hence the grounds were a bit wet and a lot muddy. I’ve never been happier seeing a lot of flat boxes on the ground. Being the inda malu ones, Nan even asked for an extra one as the ground was just too muddy plus my heels were making too many holes.
I know Yas from Yaneh, who was in Notts together with Yas many years ago. Although Yas was no longer there when I was on holiday in Notts, the three of us went out a lot for coffee in 2004. We used to call ourselves single.com (haha!) and we would prowl for Brunei’s EBs. Hahaha. I think at one point we even said that we would never find ourselves a boyfriend, let alone a husband. Such pessimists! Look at myself and Yas now (Yan, you’re the youngest amongst the three of us so you have a looong way to go! Maybe end of next year?Hehe.).
Oh, when I told Yas that I was no longer part of single.com (Haha. I still laugh when I remember this!), it turned out the she is the husband’s 2nd cousin! Damit bah Brunei ani.
So yes, congratulations Yas & Adenan. May your marriage be filled with joy, laughter, happiness and lots & lots of kids to fill up a Kirana Junior Team.
Psst Yan. The husband showed me HIS picture and he is not bad looking. Hehehehe. Go, go, go! Lots of love.
What would you do?
… when out of the blue, your ex asks you out for coffee?
now don’t go on trying to guess or think beyond that. this is just a question on what would you do?
so, apatah kan dibuat tu?
Friday!
I’ve decided to delete my initial post. I enjoyed writing it but after much thought, it felt like it was too personal. i hardly blog about my marriage but that does not mean i don’t talk about it with others. hehe. i’m fickle like that- blog then delete. you have no idea how many drafts ive saved :p
