Aaaaaah.
It’s a new week tomorrow and it’s the week that many Government servants are waiting for! He has been showcasing few retailers as part of his ‘Ways to spend your bonus’ segment whilst i have another idea.
If you know where i’m working, i would suggest you to come drop by any of our branches for a complimentary Financial Planning. This is part of our drive to introduce local residents the imporatance of financial planning. It will include measuring your risk apetite (for investments!) and introducing to you our insurance plans to protect your loved ones. Of course, you are not obligated to buy any of these if you are not interested.
I, personally took up an FP (as we like to call it!) sometime last year because
1. i wanted to spend my bonus wisely, in which i ended up buying an Indian Fund.
2. later on, i took up an insurance as i got myself a car and someone has to pay for it just in case anything happens to me.
Yes, it costs a bit of money but i think it is well worth it, insya Allah.
So friends, have fun with your bonus! Splurge on something for yourself first (i am still a shopaholic at heart despite all these!) then come pop by for a complimentary FP. You will get a free umbrella too! Hehehehe.
Oh, if you know which branch i work, use our cash or cheque maching in the next 3 days and you might get yourself some freebies!
Wah, aku ah. Promoting. Hehe. Mun kana bayar memang sudah awal ku mention tempat kerja ku ani. Hehehe.
p.s. i had a HUGE bimbo moment this weekend. i’ll post about it soon! i still cringe when i think of it. oh well. g’nite y’all! have funnnnnnnnnnn!
Almost.
I’ve had this page opened for at least 20 mins. I intended to write a proper post tonight but I was carried away reading other people’s blogs!
More tahlils plus Makan 7 hari on Sunday and a staff dinner at Empire on Saturday. It’s going to be a busy weekend. Oh, Government’s Payday and Bonus next week- work will be fun!
I had Service Quality Training today and it was plenty of fun. I even managed to win myself a real Fish, which I gave away because I don’t think it will stay alive too long with me and I don’t think I can bear the guilt of letting it die to soon! Insya Allah, I will write a proper post about that (if I remember!). Hehe.
I’m off to bed now. Work beckons tomorrow. Sigh. The joy of being a grown-up and living in the real world.
Al-Fatihah
My Tua Laki passed away this afternoon in Singapore. Family & Friends are welcome to pay respect tomorrow (Sunday) at their residence- Spg 488, Jalan Jerudong. Jenazah will be arriving at 11.15am.
Croc-ed!
After reading Have Shoes, Will Mingle, thought I’d show what I bought last weekend.

I don’t have a pair of Beach Crocs as my first pair was a Nile Crocs (which I have only worn twice- once in Spore in July and once to the beach). I thought this looked cute (I know many have said that Crocs are fugly. Pasal kamu inda confident kali. Sorry, jangan salahkan kasut. Huhu.) and I wore it for the first time last night. Hehe. Cali pulang rasanya but heyy, i’m confident (LOL!).
My husband swears by his Beach Crocs as he thought that its comfortable and convenient, especially if he’s out taking photos. He even wore it to a wedding (or was it a doa selamat) functione once. Nyangku kan- suka ia. This is from a person who I had to convince berabis to buy it and after walking out of the boutique said to me, ‘you ni punya pasal, membali me pulang’. Look who’s thanking me now? *cough*
Oh, if you’re not too keen on the design, get this

This one’s cute too! I know she bought 2 pairs! Hehe.
Why Crocs, you ask?
1.) Really soft, super comfortable, molds to your feet
2.) Barely there, weighing only 6 ounces
3.) Vented so air passes through, keeping feet cool
4.) Non-marking slip-resistant soles*
5.) Bacteria and odor resistant
6.) Ultra-hip Italian styling
7.) Port holes allow water and sand to pass through
8.) Can be sterilized in water and bleach
9.) Easy maintenance, just wipe clean
10.) Orthotic molded foot bed for ultimate comfort and support
Enough reasons to get a pair, but not enough to ditch those Manolos. Hehehe.
I’m Here!
i’m here, i’m here. it has been a loooooooooooong week!
thank god for the long weekend! i have soooo much to write but i don’t know where to start.
perhaps i’ll be boring and whine how awful work has been this week. plus, once again, i made a fool out of myself with the IT department this morning. yes, AGAIN! i came relatively early thinking i’ll be able to finish my spreadsheet before they unlock my chubb and strong room. boy, was i wrong!
i switched on my computer and it made this whiny, ear-piercing sound! and and and, nothing came on the monitor! i must have called the IT department at least 5 times, talked to 4 different people and they only managed to come down at 10am! Less than a minute later, my IT guy said, ‘your pc’s on standby lah, you didn’t switch it off last night. you ah, always!’
PSFT. how was i supposed to know my pc was on standby???? the monitor didn’t even show anything. plus, i swear i switched it off yesterday. if you’ve been reading my site for the past few months, you would know that i’ve made several ‘bimbo’ (as many have said!) complaints to the IT department. Spikez reckoned that they took their time because they know that my complaints are not usually IT problems, just me being me. TSK. oh, i gave my IT guy a piece of Daim to shut him up from laughing at me.
i’m going to go and catch up on my readings *cough*blog*cough* now. i miss my daily dose of humour, sarcasm and intelligence. hehe.
Its (was!) Monday!
I was in the middle of writing when ANTM Finale came on. Of course, I knew who won, I spoiled it for my friends. Huhu. Didn’t get around to finish writing because the Sudoku book looked too good, plus I fell asleep on the couch, sitting upright with a Sudoku book on my lap not long after that. Yes, it was definitely Monday!
Now, this is a lame attempt to write a proper post as I am pretending to be a workaholic tonight by bringing some work home. Gah. Maybe I can tell my boss that the figures are too high without analysing it. Am pretty sure I will be transferred out by month end. Huhu. She hates me enough now.
Will try to write a proper post before I leave for Singapore (although I don’t really know what constitutes a proper post). Otherwise, when I get back.
Spikez & James- it would mean that I won’t be able to join you for yoga this week! at this rate, nda tah jua pandai sampai ni. hehehe.
…
will reply comments and blog again the soonest.
am not going on a hiatus or quitting blogging, the timing is just not quite right at the moment.
abg y & m, alai n, t, n, p & n- our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. sama-sama tani doa that everything goes well. apologies we can’t be there with everyone else but tua will be in our prayers.
Busy!
I found a Sudoku book (actually I bought 2!) for $2.30 each from Booker today. Inda percaya, I asked the guy there and he said that it is $2.30 because it’s on recycled paper.
Not only now I have 380 (190 x 2) puzzles to solve, I am also helping save the trees! Isn’t this a great way to start a new year?
Earlier conversation with the husband on our way to Jerudong to get the other car.
Me: Lama tani di Jerudong?
Him: Nda eh. Ambil kereta saja.
Me: Ai. bisai the weather today ah. Yesterday kan ke pantai, hujan.
Him: Awu. You mau singgah ke pantai Tungku?
Me: Bahapa?
Him: You jua mau ke pantai.
Me: Bah, manasaja.
When we reached the beach, we found a good spot facing the empire with the sun almost setting behind it. The husband dengan iskinya got out of the car and looked for his photography gear.
I GOT TRICKED!
So what does a wife do when her husband tricked her because he wanted to take photos?
Became the model! LOL. Told you its a good start to a new year!
Hope you all had a good start to the new year too! Back to work, back to school, back to reality tomorrow!
p.s.
my first new year resolution went down the hill on the very first day of 2007. Had a BIG lunch at i-Lotus with the in-laws, followed by a BIG dinner at Nyonya with the husband’s in-laws (hehehe!).
and oh, did you guys see the ad by the road ‘Back to School, Back to Bismi’ or ‘Back to School, Back to Tajul’? Haha. Enough said.
Hello 2007!
As Asneh texted last night,
‘A toast to to all us beautiful ladies as we leave 2006, for the men who are fortunate enough to have us, the losers who has us and lost and the very luck bastards who have yet to meet us! No regrets and no remorse, our mistakes are what builds our character.’
Here to a happy & prosperous 2007!
Much love!
