Vocal Chords Rested

Woke up with a really, really sore throat this morning and could hardly talk. Been popping dequadins more than 1 every 4 hour, on to my gazzilionth bottle of water, drank the cough syrup out of the bottle and taking naps in between (thanks to the cough syrup!). I am getting well. Seriously. From past experiences, when I start getting phlegm and it affects my breathing, I’m on my way to recovery. Yes, I’m a doctor now. Haha.

Apart from that, managed to watch few episodes of Grey’s Season 2 again. Yes, I need my weekly dose of Grey’s, regardless whether it’s the current season or otherwise. I need my McDreamy. Hehe.

Can you see me watching Grey’s in between my scrapping? Hehe. If you look closer, you will be able to see my meds scattered on my desk. Hehe.

And this was the end product.

p1020085.jpg

I tried to make 3-D flowers but I don’t know how successful I was. Hehe. Used pop-up glue underneath the red flower as well as on the paper, to bring up the whole flower. Fastenened them together with small crystal brads. I found the brown scrap lying around and thought I’d cut it using the scallop trimmer and punched some holes, just to fill in the gap at the bottom of the LO. I matted the photo twice, the second one slightly bigger to give me space for some writing. Wrote how I waited for the right person, wishing, dreaming, hoping (and hence the patterned paper) for someone to sweep me off my feet. Corny I know. Haha. Used the swirl chipboards (finally!) and painted it silver white white edges and painted over with clear glaze. I then tried my hands in stitching borders around the LO. First-time zig-zag stitching as previously, I stiched using the doodle genie template.

So yes, I called it, ‘My Life in Waiting’. Am most likely going to use it as the first page for my husband & I’s main album. Am thinking of putting together LOs on how we met, first date, first photo, etc. leading to our wedding and so forth. I already have the 2 honeymoon LOs done :)

That’s my scrapbooking side of the weekend. I’m looking forward to some meat (ribs and lambchops) tonight :) :)

Doctor’s Advices

‘Try not to talk too much…’

You should’ve seen the defensive look on my face. Haha. Well, that was one of the advice I received from the doctor yesterday. They couldn’t give me a lot of medicines except the odd cough syrup, vitamin C, dequadins and heaps of advices- lots of rest, lots of hot fluids, don’t sleep with the airconditioner on and of course, try not to talk too much. Haha.

Despite my earlier post wishing for a med cert, I actually felt guilty when she offered me yesterday and declined! Haha. The doctor, however, insisted and said, ‘you need to rest and make sure you don’t pass it to people as you’re in an enclosed environment’. As today is my off day, a one day med cert is sufficient and I can try to recuperate over this long weekend.

Other plans for this long weekend includes, making my final shopping on scrappinggals (thanks scrapper-holic!) and if sempat, picture2pages or scrapbookingcove. Of course, there are few functions to go as well.

But today, it should involve- lots of fluids, lots of rest and perhaps, a quick trip to Shabby :)

Oh, the ribs photo from ranoadidas looks absolutely nyaman! It has been awhile since I last went to Charcoal. Can we go there this weekend, husband?

Have a good weekend all! xoxo.

Third?

I’ve just finished my 2nd round of antibiotics and I am nowhere near well. If this doesn’t get better, a trip to the doctors again tomorrow. Sigh. I think I’ve been to the doctors 3-4 times in the past 3 weeks and it ain’t fun. Perhaps if they offer a medical cert tomorrow, i might just take it up and have a loooong weekend.

My brain is high on meds on the moment. Need to sleep it off. Will do a proper post this weekend :) :)

Pray.

To a dear friend,

Just to let you know that there are more things that matter out there. If you feel that you can’t go on for another day, remember that Allah tests the patience of its umat to make you a stronger and better person, insya Allah. If you feel that there is no one good enough for you anymore out there, remember that things happen for a reason, Allah has better plans for you, insya Allah.

I know I’ve told you to ’sod it!’- not because I don’t love you, not because I don’t support you in what you want to do but because I don’t want you to think few years down the line that you should not have wasted your life because of one thing.

Pray for courage, pray for patience, pray for strength.

I love you!

Cropping on a Sunday

Yesterday, Y & J came over to start making the invites for the Jepunese (Yes, it’s intentional so don’t bother to correct it. Hehe) Party. And below are the invites.

dsc02748.jpg

Patterned Paper from Shabby Chic and Ribbons from Hokko. Hehe. At the far end, you can see a little tag from the same patterned paper. Used the card making template for that. Later in the evening, I started stitching the outline of the flowers for the tag! Addictive, I tell you!

Whilst J & I have started scrapbooking for awhile, it was Y’s first time to make stuff. Hehe.

dsc02749.jpg

She called us a trickster for making her come and help us. But heyyy, you said you didnt mind! :p Plus the maltesers I bribed you with helped your 9k run! Hehehe. Oh, she even made me a flower at the end of the session. See girl, you can do it bah! Btw, you can see Y tracing the templates above. Hehehe. Kena marah oleh J lagi tu later for not making enough. Hehe.

So yes, except for the venue, everything is pretty much falling into places. We have finalised the gifts and as everyone has a wishlist, we’re pretty much sure you guys will love your gifts. Hehe.

Be back soon!

Can’t Get Enough~

Went to Shabby (again!) to round up few more stuff. Am making my purchases tomorrow (i can’t wait!). Was actually tempted to purchase everything tonight but the husband was there and I don’t really want him to know how much I would spend in a single purchase.

(Btw husband, I know you’re reading this- the $50 voucher from Jats + my 20% discount, it will definitely be okay! Plus, half of the things are for you-know-who. Haha.)

In the shower earlier, I was thinking that I should set a budget for everytime I pop by at Shabby. Considering that I usally drop by during weekends only, what I have in mind should be sufficient. Enough to stock up on cardstocks, patterned paper and little embellishments. Unless they bring in more doodle genies that iss! OMG! I can’t wait to try those. I actually have a sktech in my head already. Haha. Okay, and maybe chipboards too.

I have some reading to catch up at the moment.

Will blog with pictures tomorrow (because the husband said wordy blogs are boring. hahahaha.)

Ooooh. Have I mentioned that I can’t wait to get my toys tomorrow????

But a ‘mengupi’ session with few of my girls and James made up for it. I’m starting to think that all the stress from work has made us crazy after hours.

Anyways, short post as I need to get some work done (I know!).

p.s. its payday already. be nice to your banker :p

Good Morning Monday!

It was a good start to a Monday morning when my colleagues gave me my present! Hehe. They said I was looked like a little kid who has just received toys.

p1020082.jpg

Toys for big kids are more like it! Hehe. They gave me a tag maker with extra tag rims and a paper & ribbon slot punching tool! I gave a squeal of delight when i opened the bag this morning.

Oooh. Below are what my baybees got me. You should’ve seen the look on my face when I saw them. Of course I put together a wishlist but I didn’t know which one they were getting me.

p1020072.jpg

The Toolkit Deluxe, 3 sets of foam stamps and an album!! Funnn! Thanks again guyssss!

Hehehe. And this is what I did yesterday,

p1020081.jpg

I only used 1 photo as I was going to include the receipt from the hotel and the keycard. I haven’t actually finished it as I had to do some work last night, which was due today.

The chipboards were painted gold or copper and I used continuous line to stick them as i found the tombow wasn’t too strong. I used stickers for the word honeymoon and for Bangkok, I used a chipboard for ‘b’ and foam stamps for the rest. I also outlined the letters with black ink.

I punched some holes on the receipt booklet and tied it with a ribbon and more holes on the side for the white ribbon. I have yet to include some journalling (yan, is this correct? hehe) in little booklet with the keycard as the cover, which will include a summary of things happening in Bangkok. Oh, the word ‘in’ is still missing as i wasn’t sure how to do it. I might just use Shabby’s sizzix this weekend. Hehehe.

So yes. This weekend- complete journalling (?) and create the word ‘in’.

Ooooh. James & Spikez- we have to decide the doorgift for the party. I was actually thinking a Japanese-inspired gift in a pouch and I can make the tags with our names on it in English and Japanese (kanji, lah!)!!! Invitation cards lagi. Menu and menu cover lagi. Outfit lagi.

Btw, Ellez (I know you’re reading this in between your meetings and Grey’s marathon) if you can find a suitable doorgift while you’re in Tokyo atu, let us know yeah. Will get back to you on the numbers and budget yeah. Hehe. Perhaps you can get a geisha outfit there and learn how to pour tea too? :p

Movie and More Scrapbooking.

I have a feeling I am more of a cardstock girl than patterned paper. More likely because the patterned papers are too pretty and I didn’t want to ruin it. I also like how some LOs are full of creativity- embellishments and what not but somehow, I don’t like my LOs to be too full. I try to minimize things I use on my LOs. And oh, I like to do a little bit of journalling in my LOs.

I guess scrapper-holic is right when she said ‘Preserving Lifetime Moments’.

Started one LO yesterday afternoon (after doing some damage to my bank account!) and finished it earlier today. I didn’t put a lot of embellishments (as usual) as I didn’t really want them to take the focus away from the photos. I absolutely love the main photo and had to sweet-talk the husband of not putting it up on his webpage before I give it away. Yes, the LO is actually going to be a present. I now can either frame it or wait for the shadow box at Shabby’s.

Oh, since it’s going to be a present, I might post the LO after I have given it to her/ him. :)

Since, I finished that, guess what I did? Haha. Of course, I started on another LO. I finally opened my scrolls chipboard. I didn’t really want to use it because they are just too pretty! Painted them gold and copper and then layered them with clear gloss and pearl glaze. I also used one chipboard letter and managed to mix red roses and pink lipstick to get the colour that i wanted! It’s time like these i wished i had sizzix!

Oooh, we finally got to watch 300 last night at Empire! Met her there too. I think I’ve mentioned before that I don’t like people coming in when the movie has started and OMG! Last night, there were just too many people coming in late. As we like to choose the aisle seats (in case we come in late of course and so, we don’t have to try to squeeze our asses and block others’ views), we had to endure inconsiderate movie-goers blocking our views and ushers shining torchlights in our faces to show others their seats- all when the movie has started!

Besides that, the movie was okay albeit being slow in the beginning. The producer/ art director/ or whatever they call ‘em sure had a good time doing the graphics. More funny than gory, to be honest. The husband was disappointed because we had to leave before we could watch the credits after the movie as people were already standing up and I was rushing him to leave the cinema because of ‘certain things’. Hehehehe. Karang I google for you and tell you, okay babe?

This is a lenghty post. Enjoy what’s left of the weekend guys!
